Meet Our Dog Walkers

Shelley is a native Oregonian. My husband Jim and I have been married for almost 35 years.  12 Years ago, I began my first pet sitting business in Banks, Or.  When we moved to Hillsboro in 2013, I founded “Hillsboro Dog Walkers”.  In the beginning it was just me.  Before long, I was hiring and training employees to help me keep up with all the wonderful dogs that needed walks.

My earlier experiences forming relationships and bonding with dogs came when I was raising and training puppies for Guide Dogs for the Blind and Diabetic Alert Dogs with Kristin Tarnowski of Pieces of the Universe Dog Training.  This was a truly rewarding experience. Kheeta is our German Shepherd, shown in this picture.  She is 13 years old now.  We are going through the growing pains of senior dog lifestyle.  Sharing your life with a senior dog brings new challenges and worries but she is still strong and looking very beautiful!

My venture working with animals and building wonderful new relationships with Hillsboro pet parents continues to bring me joy every day.

Pet Care Specialist

Lead Dog Walker & Pet Sitter

I was born and raised in the small town of Dilley, Oregon. I have had a deep love for animals of all types for as long as I can remember.

Once on my own, I got a German Shepherd named Hunter. I fell in love with the breed and have since had three more. I have previously volunteered for many years with the Hillsboro Police Department K-9 unit. I thoroughly enjoyed this, and find the work that these officers and canines do fascinating!

In my spare time, I enjoy anything that has to do with being in the outdoors. Hiking with my husband and two German Shepherd’s, kayaking, and camping, just to name a few.

Before coming to work for Hillsboro Dog Walkers, I worked in the Human Resources field for over 15 years. I recently made the decision to follow my true passion and work with animals. I feel very fortunate and blessed to be spending my days walking and caring for your beloved pets!
