Service Agreement

Hillsboro Dog Walkers agrees to provide the services stated herein in a reliable and trustworthy manner. In consideration of these services, and as an express condition thereof, the Client expressly waives and relinquishes any and all claims against Hillsboro Dog Walkers unless arising from deliberate negligence on the part of HDW or their representative(s).

Clients Return – HDW assumes client returned as scheduled unless otherwise notified via email, text, or telephone.

Extension of service – In the event of client’s return being delayed, client will contact HDW to notify of extension of service, via email, text or telephone.  Client will be billed as determined by number of visits and rate quoted prior to service.

Property Damage – HDW is not responsible for any loss or damage to client’s home beyond the control of the Pet Sitter or caused by clients pet.  This includes, but is not limited to leaks, electrical problems, burglaries, and acts of nature.  In these situations, the company will attempt to contact the client and then the emergency contact before making a subjective decision on dealing with the problem.

Urgent Animal Care – In case of an illness or injury that HDW believes to threaten clients pet(s) lives or quality of life, HDW will make every reasonable attempt to secure prompt treatment for clients pet(s). Client authorizes HDW to authorize emergency first aid and/or medical surgical treatment to clients pet(s) at a veterinary clinic of HDW choice during the service period, and client agrees to be solely responsible for all expenses incurred resulting from such effort, even if unsuccessful, up to limits designated in writing, or if not available, at HDW discretion. Due to the nature and urgency of some pet(s) health emergency, where time is of the essence, there may not be time to consult with client and/or Client specified emergency contact(s) when HDW considers it’s safe and/or appropriate to do so.. Client releases HDW from all liability related to transportation, treatment, or expenses, resulting from any emergency or special needs as determined by HDW.

Pet Supplies – Pet Owner is responsible for supplying the necessary, safe equipment/supplies needed for care of their pet(s), including but not limited to a sturdy, well-fit harness (halter, collar, crate, etc…) for walks or in case of emergencies, firmly affixed vaccination tags, a lead rope or leash, pooper-scoopers, litter boxes, food, cleaning supplies, medicines, pet food, and cat litter.  In the event it is necessary to purchase additional supplies, food or litter during our service period HDW will purchase necessary items. Client can be billed for the expenses of such supplies.

Personal Injuries/Aggressive Animals – Client is responsible for all medical expenses and damages resulting from injury to a Pet Sitter, or other persons, resulting from acts caused by clients pet.  Client agrees to indemnify, hold harmless, and defend HDW, in the event of a claim by any person injured by clients Pet. HDW does not accept known aggressive animals in its care.  Hillsboro Dog Walkers may use their discretion to stop and end service at any time that a pet poses a danger to the safety or health of itself, other pets, other people, or the Pet Sitter. If concerns prevent the Pet Sitter from continuing to care for a pet, the Owner authorizes the pet to be placed in a kennel, or previously arranged locale if possible.   All subsequent charges, including but not limited to transportation, kenneling, tranquilizing, treating, accessing, and liability, are to be the responsibility of the Owner.

 Animals behavior can be unpredictable. HDW does not accept responsibility or liability for animal behavior, normal or otherwise, which results in injury to the client’s animals. Further, if an HDW provider is harmed or injured by the client’s animals, the client/owner accepts full responsibility for the cost of any necessary medical attention required by either the HDW Pet Care provider or by the animals.

Fences  – Hillsboro Dog Walkers is not liable for injury to, or loss of, any pets allowed, at the direction of the Client, access to a doggie door, or allowed outside the Client ‘s house off lead or unattended.

Pet Waste:  Hillsboro Dog Walkers will properly dispose of pet waste while on a dog walk.

Collars and Leashes:  All dogs will be required to be on leashes during outdoor walks. We also ask that you be sure their dog tags identifying there name and a contact phone number be attached to their collar while you’re away.

Medications / Vaccinations:  Hillsboro Dog Walkers will attempt to administer medications as directed but cannot be held responsible for complications that arise as a result.  Under no circumstances will Hillsboro Dog Walkers service any pet that has any form of a contagious illness.  This is for the safety of our pets and our clients.  Hillsboro Dog Walkers requires that all pets have rabies vaccine before service begins.  We also require that your pets be on a flea treatment program.  If a Hillsboro Dog Walkers owner or employee is bitten or exposed to any disease or aliment received from a client’s pet, which has not been properly or currently vaccinated, the client will be responsible for all costs and damages that may incur.

Keys/Entry to Home – HDW requires 2 sets of keys for access to your home during pet visits.

Hidden lock box may be used at clients expense. In the event the lock box is lost or key is not in box, HDW has legal right to call locksmith for entry in clients home and bill client for locksmith charges.

Alarms – HDW still requires 2 sets of house keys.  In the event of a power outage the alarm will not open the door.

Access to Home by Others:   HDW does not accept pet sitting assignments that requires us to care for your pets more that 24 hours apart or when friends or neighbors have been asked to share in the pet care responsibilities. HDW is responsible for the care, custody and control of your home and pets while you are away.  Access to home by other includes cleaning services, repairpersons, friends, family and neighbors. PSA (Pet Sitters Associates) does not accept liability for accidents that occur when other persons (besides HDW owner or employees)  will be in your home during contracted pet care services.

Online Registration and Profile:

For your added convenience HDW has elected to use a safe and encrypted online system to store client’s information. It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that the system is always up to date. Sitters will use the information provided in this system as the ultimate instruction for the home and pet care.

Payment & Terms :

Pet sitting and dog walking services will require payment in full at the time of your in home consultation. Subsequent services may be paid online, by check or cash up to 7 days prior to your departure/service period. There will be a service charge of $35.00 for each returned check.  Daily dog walking services can be paid each week on the last day of the week.

Late Fees:

Client will be charged a 5% late fee of unpaid balances.  Invoices are considered late after 10 days of Invoice Date.

Past Due Accounts over 60 days will be turned over to collections.  Client will be responsible for all charges incurred to employ collections agency for payments due.

Cancellations:

Regular Mid-Day Service:  24-hour notice is required prior to the next scheduled visit. (Dog Walking)

Vacation Visits – 7 days Notice to cancel 

7 Day notice of cancellation Required for Full Refund (Exception – Holidays, please see below)

Holiday Cancellations:

No Refunds for Holiday cancellations 7 days or less from start of service.

Pet sitting services and kennels receive more requests for reservations than they can handle during the holiday time periods. We may have turned away other clients or hired additional help to accommodate our client’s needs during the holidays.

Future Service:

This contract permits HDW to accept all future telephone, online, mail or email reservations and provide service without additional signed legal considerations agreements.

Concerns:

Client agrees to discuss any concerns with Hillsboro Dog Walkers within 24 hours of return after service.

Marketing:

Client agrees to allow HDW to use photos of their pets on their website, face book and any other promotional material.  HDW agrees to maintain the confidentiality of client and clients pets and only photos will be visible
